night. I'm sure some of you, are maybe
hanging around the Masjid, maybe on your phones,
maybe you've just come home after Tawawir.
And you know, I
read a quote tonight and it said that
it was a quote by 1 a big
Sheikh and, his name eludes me, but the
point is very powerful. That does not elude
me. He said, don't just search
for the lay little Qadr in between the
pillars of the masjid.
And he mentions he goes on to list
a bunch of different ways that you can
search for.
He mentions
to clothe the poor, to feed the hungry,
to help the Ummah. And he goes on
and on listing these things. So
this point is very pertinent tonight, brothers and
sisters. You know, sometimes
we are
almost deceived to think that
is just for us and our own personal
Ibada.
But the prophet Muhammad alaihi wa sallam said
to me profound. And
as someone being in this sector,
you know, working with charities for many years,
I've always had to look for inspiration and
this is that one hadith that kept me
going and it says
the prophet Muhammad
said, it is more beloved to me
to help my brother in his time of
need than to spend the whole month in
it to in my Masjid and he's referring
of course to where
the deeds are a 1000 times more awardable.
So if this was the sacrifice the prophet
Muhammad was willing to wake, make for himself
and his own Ibadah,
but for the greater good of helping a
Muslim,
because they're going through difficulties, they're going through
hardship,
then what can we say for
the opportunity to invest in an organization like
Islam 21 c, who is defending the rights
of Muslims, who is protecting their identity,
who is trying to bring them out of
the depths of darkness into light.
So we understand Islam deeper. We understand
Islam in a more meaningful way. And you
have the opportunity tonight not just to do
your own

things that bring us close to Allah.

campaign.
What is Palestine truth? Why did it come
to fruition?
What's the objective? What are you trying to
achieve from it? Let's talk a bit about
that inshallah.
Well, we have a, we have a little

few campaigns that we're planning to get to

tackling some of the misinformation,
tackling the disinformation,
tackling the lies and so forth,
in a robust way using different types of
multimedia.
There's so much stuff out there already,

some people might get kind of, almost
inhibited by the the scale and the magnitude

the information like an overload.
But Alhamdulillah, we've been working,
in the background with specialists, with people. We
had also a book published, alhamdulillah, in our
annual dinner,

in a few days, inshallah, for these live

on specific kind of key,
disinformation points to to set the narrative,
straight using high quality
multimedia, you know,
products and so forth to, you know, so
education, promoting awareness, busting myths, you know, boycott
guidance, FAQs, Palestinian sharing Palestinian voices,
and things like that. So a very,
kind of
concise coordinated campaign
on
addressing the misinformation about the Palestinian cause. Because
at the end of the day, this is
a this is a battle of narratives and
discourse. You know? Shafaeta was saying the other
day that this is, you know, where the
the main
lots of people are saying this is where
the main kind of, battle is now, you
know, between truth and falsehood. It's not simply,
you know, physical warfare like maybe used to
be back in the day, but it's actual,
you know, propaganda, fighting propaganda,

down to. It was similar. It was like
this. It's always been like this to some

I don't know if we, depending on your
masjid, what how what just you're reading,
in the, for example, but today or yesterday
or tomorrow, you would have come across Surah
Fusilat, you know, and I was just listening
that,
you know, they say
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, Waqalalazin
kafrullahatisma'ulihadil
Quran.
These disbelievers, the people in Mecca, they they
would say don't listen to this Quran
and make noise during it.
Yeah. So other people can't listen.
Yeah so there's a causal relationship here. Don't
listen to this Quran, make noise during its
recitation
so that you may
be victorious.
Right? So the victory of, of falsehood,
even in a physical sense is linked
to hiding the truth, stopping people, listening to
the truth,
and and and so forth. So this is
something that's a kind of common thread throughout
history, you know, in Musa alayhis salam and
Firaun, we see and and Sheikh Al Sajid

in a bit more detail and share examples

disinformation encountering misinformation propaganda.
Musa alayhi salaam,

louder and louder and until there's too loud

other day they're showing clips from
outlets like Middle East Eye for example. So
alternate
media channels
that are
kind of bypassing
the mainstream,
media kind of bubble and putting stuff out
there directly.

been saying in this whole genocide Israel has
been telling you what's happened
with the Palestinians have been showing you what's
happening.
You know so we have we have a
duty to be their voice and to
amplify their voice
when it comes to these, you know,
our
our media outlets and so forth. And so
media is extremely, extremely important. This is where
this is what makes or breaks you know

state's ability to carry out genocide with impunity
you know as has been happening hitherto.
The the louder and louder we get, we
can get to a point where we're too
loud to ignore.

we're not being strategic enough with those funds

thinking that

all you who believe spent from that which
we have given you. And I was having
a conversation with my brothers the other day
and we were talking about you know we
think our lives are are are owned. We
think
everything we've done, everything we've accumulated is is
sometimes as a result of our own
successes, our own hard work. But we don't
even own our own eyes. We don't own
our own mouth. We don't own our our
hands, our limbs, and these are things that
will testify for or against us.
Allah's question how we used our body. Allah's
gonna take that body back the same way
he'll take our soul back and he's gonna
ask us
how did we live our lives? Or how
do we use the blessings of legs and
sight and intellect?
You know, and the wealth as well that
Allah has given us. That's why Allah mentions
that all you who believe give from that
which we have provided you.
Meaning it's not ours. You can't claim ownership
over something
we were unable to do without Allah's assistance,
Allah's help. And Allah then goes on to
continue. He says, do that before a day
comes, before there's no bargaining, there's no intercession,
and there's no help.
So Allah's, you know, it's like a Allah's
giving us a heads up if you will,
that the time
and be prepared for it. I'm warning you
now, invest, spend in my course. And you
know when Allah tells you to do something
or I find I invite you to do
something, or if Allah attaches a reward to
something, then you know,
1 it will please our Lord if we
do it. But 2 there's a massive reward.
Like Allah's Allah's out of his mercy.
When Allah tells us to do something it's
good for us, right? For our mental,
financial,
economical,
social well-being.
But it's also rewardable for us as well.
So Allah's saying,
this is not your money, it's my money.
Spending my cause before day comes and you'll
be reckoned. Oh, and by the way, do
that. Even though it's a command, do it.
But, hey, I'm a I'm the rich one.
I'll reward you. I'll give you more than
you could ever imagine, more than your wildest
dreams could ever
conceive will be possible. I'll give that to
you. I'll return it to you. Come to
business with me. So this is how we
need to see our world. This is the
perspective we should look at, the lens to
which we should look at, that we need
to see that
Islam is more than just ourselves. It's more
than just our family. The priority should always
be the deen.
How do we elevate the deen? How do
we do
of Allah? How do we glorify Allah?
And a lot of time it's by investing
and supporting an institutions.
Right? That are corners of our pillars of
our society
that are fighting the battles that we're unable
to fight individually and Islam 21 C without
a doubt is one of those so these
big
you know groups we're not aware of them.
This is only one fact for peace. There's
dozens and dozens if not 100 of these.
We know the Jewish lobby groups are the
largest lobby groups in the world. They're the
most well funded in the world. We know
that even,
in the UK, many of the conservative parties,
majority of conservative party members are affiliated with
them. They do that to further their aims,
their objectives, their careers. You know? So Unfortunately,
I think professor David Miller is saying since,
like, the forties or fifties, they've they've they've
been Zionist. They've been taken over by Zionist
Jews,
and even non Jews,
who are you know pro Zionist. So we

story of Aisha and her when she would
give.
She would perfume the put perfume on it.

that when there's a charity shop near my
house, and I get so vexed when I
see, like, just bin bags
strewn across the street right in front of
it. And people just like throwing it as
rubbish. Remember Aisha
she used to
cherish on her sadaqah and
you know she said because this is going
to be accepted in in the right hand
of Allah,
before he gives it to the poor.

charity shops.

fallen victim to that myself, to be honest.

and the work that is building

solutions that have probably created some of these

It's easy for us to stand here and

day while we're driving around, I said Shaytan,
it was, you know, Iblis, there's not a
place that he didn't do such on the
earth. He's been around, he knows the tricks.
He knows how to, you know,
make us do things that necessarily
are good and praiseworthy, but at the cost
of doing other things that we should be
doing that are greater reward.
And I I I think the issue is
not that we give so much of our
money to humanitarian
causes.
They are there are needs, and there are
massive, massive immense rewards for honoring,
our brothers and sisters, for helping them, for
supporting them. But the challenge is that we've
neglected
the strategic moves that we need to make
in supporting other institutions
and the pillars of society
that will actually further aim,
further aim to develop
our communities.
Mhmm. I was at a fundraiser tonight.
I went to Kingston,
great youth organization called Kingston Muslim Youth. You
know the brother used to be involved in
Used to be our news editor for like
5 years, inshallah. That's right. And he's doing
amazing work, Masha'Allah. You know, they've got a
great youth center down there. And they're they're
literally,
you know, making real impact. And I said
to the community there, I said brothers, sisters,
if I was to stand here and show
you a a dying starving baby, you'd all
give. I said, what we're looking for you
to do tonight is we're asking you to
invest in this organization
so we can build the leaders.
Okay? And the change makers
that will
create
social change within the fabric of our society

strategically
solve some of these problems long term. Why
is it that when we look across the
world, we see that the largest
populous of refugees in the world are predominantly
from Muslim countries.
Think about all of the major man made
catastrophes in the last 10 years.
Look at Syria. Look at Yemen. Look at
the Rohingya Muslims.
Look at the the the Uighurs.
Look at Gaza. Okay? The Iraq war, you
know, set off a illegal war, set off
a chain of events that led to the
probably the biggest humanitarian,
refugee crisis
ongoing refugee crisis in modern history. Yeah. And
it it can't I mean, yes, there's the
there's Russia and Ukraine situation going on. Of
course. And all of those things, they're built
upon discourse and narratives.
Right? That's how these these policies, these wars,
these genocides are sold to,
people.
Yeah.
And and given cover given narrative cover.
You know, one thing I wanna mention, right,
so we understand the gravity because someone touched
on a point. If we could summarize or
if I could summarize what I think we're
doing tonight, I think that we're dealing with
the the battle of ideological,
values.
Okay?
There there's a ideological war taking place every
single day. It's in our schools. It's in
our classrooms. It's in universities.
It's in our homes. It's on the ipads.
It's on the phones. It's in workplaces.
It's everywhere you go and these ideological battles
they're pushing secularism, liberalism, LGBT agendas.
They're pushing transgenderism,
fornication,
the breakdown of the family unit.
All of these things that
we'll tolerate as a community
if other people practice them, but we will
not allow them to infringe on our values
and what we believe as Muslims.
And the issue is that these things have
been broken down even through media, through
through, you know, sitcoms and stuff like that,
adverts, TV shows.
And it is it is slowly slowly breaking
down the very fabric of our
society and our Muslim identity.
Islam It's it's funny that you mentioned that
because the some of the campaigns that we
have the initiation documents when the planning's,
gone into for,
just about that. We have the guarding innocence
about
sexualization of children in schools and and and
indoctrination of certain,
ideologies.
We have,
a really, really important
campaign that's close to my heart, power of
a Muslim woman. You know, a group not
because I'm a Muslim identify as a Muslim
woman, but because
A powerful Muslim woman. Yeah. The it's the
it's it's,
what can I say? It's a group of
sisters that have been through our Tarbia programs
in Sabeel and Sahab 6 6 years. They've
been, you know, delivering
stuff in the local communities, talking to sisters
on the ground, learning about their issues.
And,
they're doing a campaign through a sign 20
OC with high quality
media assets, you know, regular podcasts,
articles, and new websites have been,
designed in the in the testing stages. And
SubhanAllah,
It's actually from the perspective of a confident
Muslim
women or of confident Muslim women not pandering
to
obviously kind of liberalism and feminism and so
forth but at the same time
not a blind reaction
to secularism liberalism
Right? Because when a community
feels weak
and embattled and,
beleaguered,
There's a there's a tendency to just
still
use the oppressor or use the
dominant narrative
as your yardstick and just do be anything
anti that. You know this is what the
liberals are saying we're going to be anti
liberal. This is what the feminists say we're
going to be anti feminist
but it it what assumption tries to do
is to create something based on our own
standpoint, our own Islamic
epistemology, our own values, our own metaphysics, our
own,
ethics and morality
from the Quran, sunnah, from the the the
heritage
of our Ummah for the last 1400 years
to make something generally from our,
perspective. And those things are are re most
campaigns in particular, I'm really excited about.
Those his sister are doing great work. And
obviously, you know, he's been pivotal in the
guarding innocence campaign, none other than none other
than our brother Youssef Patel,
of the
formerly known as SRE Islamic,
rebounded to the Muslim family institute I think.

together to build,

media coverage
on social media was showing what was really
going on on the ground.

And as a result of the losing,
the losing,
what we call it, campaign. Right? The the
PR campaign
of
Israel and the the government there as well
as the IDF, they were so worried about
the,
you know, losing public opinion
that the Israeli government actually spent £7,100,000,000.
Where did they spend it? Was it on
billboards and Facebook and YouTube and print media
across multifaceted
media campaigns?
No. That 7,100,000,000
was only spent
on YouTube ads.
Anyone in the digital marketing industry or even
just some insights into social media know that
to put that much money into one focused
effort is gonna yield a massive impact.
So that 7,100,000
YouTube ads, that's translated into
nearly 1,000,000,000
video impressions.
Right? Imagine the the graphic images, the videos
they're showing people, trying to show themselves
as the victim. And by the way, never
in the history of any occupation
has the occupier
claimed to be the victim, yet they're doing
it. And this is how much they're spending
try to spew
their false narrative.
So this is what we're up against, brothers
and sisters.
Islam 21 c is fighting and battling that
narrative, and it takes money, it takes investment.
What we're up against is monumental.
However,
right,
we can do it
And as as great as difficult as it
seems, I wanna remind you brothers and sisters
of the story
of David and Goliath. Right? Dawud and Jalut.
So picture this.
Right? Dawud Alaihi Salam, he's not even a
prophet yet. Okay? He's a young man. He's
still growing. He's not known to be a
large man in stature either physically. He doesn't
he's got a massive physical presence.
He hasn't been bestow with knowledge of prophethood
or the wisdom of prophethood.
So he is an average man at the
time.
And he is with his king. And the
king, Talut,
has got all of his army in front
of him.
That would be part of the army, and
they are opposing
they're about to go into battle with the
opposition.
And who is sent forward from the opposition?
None other than Goliath. Jalut is sent forward.
So Jalut is sent forward and Talut, the
king says to his soldiers, says to his
people, a very small amount of people it
was. It's also narrated as 313
of them, similar to.
And Talut says to his men, he says,
who will come forward and and fight this
Goliath?
So they're all looking around, waiting who's gonna
step forward and, you know, was it the
biggest one that stepped forward? No.
Was it the most,
you know,
tough and hardy one of them to step
forward? No. It wasn't. Who was it that
stepped forward? None other than
Picture the scene, brothers and sisters.
Right? Faced against this monstrosity,
this Goliath
of an enemy in front of them. He
must have been scared, worried, you know, how
can I do this? But he didn't back
down, brothers and sisters. Sisters. He knew there
was a massive challenge ahead of him. He
put his trust in Allah.
He grabs his slingshot,
stone in it, and he starts to spin
that slingshot.
And with 1 mighty pelt he he flings
that slingshot
and that stone is penetrating through the air
and with 1 almighty
knock it hits Goliath.
It hits Goliath on his head, and in
an unimaginable
spectacle,
Goliath drops to the floor, and is victorious.
A victory that no one ever expected.
A victory that no one ever thought would
come.
This is the same as today, brothers and
sisters. We may be up against the media
giants of the world, these global multinational institutions.
And Islam 21 c may seem like
it's not capable of defeating this giant. But
brothers and sisters,
we are one of the important cogs. We
are one of the important links in the
chain that will be the chain that pulls
victory forward.
And we have to act. We have to
step forward
to bring about this change, to bring about
this victory because it could be from one
campaign. It could be from one article
that might change a community, change an individual
who will bring about real change in the
future. So never
never underestimate
the impact. Never underestimate the value
that your intention that your

to take a narrative,

but the meaning is the same.
And those bots, they produce these narratives, they're
responding to comments online,

There's fake accounts,
and they're just creating a a an account
narrative.
So if you wanna get someone in power,
you wanna elect someone, whatever it is, right,
It's these narratives that are putting presidents
into positions. It's electing presidents.
So imagine, 20%
of all online discourse
was created by 400,000
bots.
Robots, programs,
typing away. So all the articles were created
no matter how many we put out per
week, per month, per year.

has placed upon our collective shoulders

That's exactly what they came to do. They
came to counter false narratives.
They came to
stand as adversaries against falsehood, and they were
advocates
for everything that was righteousness
and and and,
part of justice,
and,
they stood with the truth.
In in in a world where no messengers
to come,
the Ummah of Muhammad
assumes that role.
Rasallat said, We're the best of all nations.
We're the best of all nations for a
reason.
They're not just the best of all nations
as an honorific, It's not just a title
void of responsibility. Right?
So it's important. The work of Islam 21
c is important because
it's actually taking care
of
a responsibility.
You could even say an obligation,
really.
And, for those who can't
stand against
or can't be an adversary against certain forms
of,
misguidance,
then they should support,
institutions,
that are.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said that
the one who,
armors and
funds
the soldier, then he also is in the
path of Allah even though he might not
go out in the path of Allah. So,
if we have
institutions on the front lines, and Islam 21
c is one of them,
that is standing for the truth and supporting
the truth
being
an adversary against,
the false
narratives,
then it should be supported.
It should be supported. And in our support
of the program, will we take care of
the responsibility that's on our shoulders? Because Allah
will ask us as well. We will be
asked what did we do.
So, but, Alhamdulillah,
Allah is merciful.
Islam is merciful.
Islam didn't tell us that, you know, you
have to do this, but it can only
happen this way. Islam told us that it
can happen in a manner that is,
conducive to your circumstance.
So if you can't do it yourself, support
someone who can.
And and and you will get the reward.
They will get the rewards, and you will
get the rewards because we are an Ummah
of Ata'awun alalbiriwat taqwah. So Allah has set
us as interdependent
beings.
That is by design. That's a universal principle.
We are interdependent
by design. And Allah,
sets a principle
that we can,
truly
experience,
each other's potential if we leverage off each
other's strengths. And that is the idea of
tawen, that we cooperate
upon,
that which is righteous and that which is
beloved to Allah So,
you know, a lot of the narratives require
a level of study, a level of reading,
a level of thought.
Not all of us have time to,
engage academia.
But, alhamdulillah, if you have an institution that's
dedicated to it, then all that's left is
for us to support it with and support
doesn't just mean funding.
Support it with dua.
Support it with,
dua is one of the most strongest forms
of support
that we can give to our institutions.
Du'a,
and then also,
supporting it with expertise
that you might not be able to
assist the institution,
in terms of the frontline operation.
But the back end operation, you have expertise.
It could be user interface expertise. It could
be
tech expertise. It could be,
anything
that you, you know, legal
support,
and then, you know,
financial support, no doubt, because we live in
a world that,
has wealth
as a form of oxygen in terms of
driving,
institutions. It's just a necessary requirement.
It's not that these institutions are set up
for the sake of gathering funds,
but it's just a matter of necessity.
That's it. So,
and, you know, these organizations are not asking
for themselves.
They are and they're not asking you for
them. They're asking you for you. This is
the reality,
brothers and sisters in Islam.
Sometimes,
you know, people who are in the fundraising
space, they do,
speak to me and say, Sheikh, it's tough.
You know, you're constantly asking, asking, asking. The
causes are many.
Financial difficulty is in play. And, you know,
donor fatigue is actually a thing that's being,
discussed. And I say to my brothers, I
said, listen, guys.
You're asking for them. You're not asking for
you. You're asking
for them and for the sake of Allah.
Never ever ever be shy to ask this
way.
You know, asking for yourself is something that
should make you shy. But asking for Allah,
for a means that benefits the person who,
you
know, who is the hand that gives. Never
feel shy about that because at the end
of the day,
The one who is guided,
then they are guided in the in in
in the manner
of only benefiting themselves. It's it's not that,
you know, Allah needs them to be guided
for Allah's majesty to be great. Allah is
perfect from ever, and he's perfect forever.
And,
Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala,
you know, he's he's he has complete sovereignty,
over his decree
and, his way. It is us really who
are.
We are impoverished in need of the forgiveness
of our Lord, and it's only us putting
up our hand and saying, you Allah choose
us to be a means
for your decree
that is under your complete sovereignty that will
be in its being. Use us as a
means so that we are honored, really,
to be part and parcel of the process.
So this is this is the reality, brothers
and sisters in Islam. Why is the is
the work of Islam 21 c important? I
think I've highlighted that and why we should
be a part of it. Then from the
perspective of the work, I've shared,
some ideas and also from the perspective of
ourselves,
from the perspective,
of ourselves. So,
yes, everyone who donated, I I echo, what,
doctor Salman and and Barik, you know, what
they were saying. Allah except from everyone who,
traded with Allah
this evening, And I don't doubt that Allah
will invest your your

then you will see the returns. You will

when we put this,
the plan together for these streams and and
this topic in particular as well,
so the importance of the media, the media
battlefield,
miss misinformation
tackling misinformation and propaganda.
I was just thinking even during,
you know, I just you you're looking you're
listening to those ayaat, and you're you're thinking
and you're reflecting over them from a
angle, you know, from the perspective of making
to the on the notion of the media
and and propaganda and truth and falsehood and
so forth. It'd be good to just get
some reflections from me if you if you
came across anything like that. I mean, I
don't know. We were discussing before you joined.
You know, depending on where you are, how
how fast your goes through the must have.
Yeah.
People are going through
around about this time sort of fusilat. We're
just referring to the ayah.
We're going through the the 24th,
Jews.
We completed Surah Zumr today, then,
we embarked on, Surah Al Khafir, and then
Surah Al Fusilat. Surah Al Khafir,
is the first of the Hawamim.
Hawamim. The,
surahs that begin with hamim
and the 7 of them.
And they are in the order that we
have them in the Quran, starting with Surah
Gafir.
And Abdullah ibn Abbas
he he states that these 7 Suras were
revealed in order after
Surah Zumr.
And I was just telling our brothers and
sisters today in the Masjid that,
you know,
being hit
with
is potent in building Yimat,
really. Mhmm. And if you ponder over,
that the, you know, the reality of the
verses that were recited today in the 24th
June, you can actually appreciate that this was
at a, you know, at a severe time
during the Makkan phase of the prophetic mission.
But these ayat are coming over time,
and we have 7, the Hawami, Adi, one
after the other, all dealing with Makkah narratives,
establishing Allah is Allah and his oneness in
his lordship, his oneness in his worship, his
oneness in his names and attributes,
establishing the messenger as the messenger, establishing the
Quran as god sent,
establishing life after death in the day of
Qiyamah.
And
these are the genres of knowledge that we
find in the Meccan verses.
So it's all iman building, really.
And as the Tarawi was going on, I'm
thinking to myself,
the Quraysh are listening to these verses coming
down.
Actually, this predominantly,
the
the the arrogant disbelievers, the idolators,
who are fighting the messenger, sanctioning him, and
doing everything to avert people joining him,
persecuting those who are with him. They are
receiving these verses in a language that they
understand upon a level of eloquence that is
unmatched.
How must it be for them?
That surely, deep down, they know that this
person is speaking the truth, and it's just
utter arrogance
and,
you know, false affiliation to customs
of your forefathers
that's causing you to deny
a message
that even if you didn't have verses worth
it, is absolutely rational.
And we see these surahs affirming these realities,
not only in the narrative context, but also
in the form of stories, which is amazing.
So this consolidation process happens with the story.
I mean, take,
Surah Hafiz, for example. Allah chooses
again the story of Musa. So we see
Musa featuring
before Hijra and Musa featuring after Hijra. I
mean, Banu Israel is discussed in Surat Al
Baqarah, which is revealed
for most of the medallion period.
But in the Meccan Surahs as well, we
see Musa as if the prophet
is being taught
that the story
is
really similar
or even the same. It's just the actors
are different.
And what you're going through, if we just
rewind back,
same situation, but this time there's Musa
and there's Biraun.
And not just Biraun, but he had Karun
and he had Haman. And there was this
ridicule taking
place. And he Firaun telling Haman,
build me a tower so I can go
into the heavens. I can enter the pathways
towards heaven. Have a look at this deity
that,
Musa is calling to me. This is absolute
ridicule.
Absolute ridicule.
But also,
within the story, scholars of some of the
scholars of tafsir have deduced that their own
deep down knew
that he's preaching
a false narrative.
Because
when
his close people in Haman and Qarun are
saying, let's kill the people who are with
him, and and let's enslave the women.
Firaun says,
let's kill Musa.
Let's kill Musa. He goes a step further.
Forget about killing his people, let's kill Musa,
because deep down there's something.
And,
he's being reminded to the Ahazab.
The Ahazab, meaning the groups before, the people
of 'Ad, and Tamut, and Nuh, and what
happened to them. So
as you travel through the Mecca and verses,
you see it's full of false narratives being
propagated.
And not only with regards to the message,
but also with regards to the messenger, this
character assassination,
that he's a magician, that he's a sorcerer,
that, you know, he's come only to disunite,
and so on and so forth. It's it's
it's like a constant throughout the Meccan verses.
It's this false narrative, and the Quran is
at the forefront.
Right? It's it's on the front lines,
pushing back the false narrative.
And in it, subhanAllah, the prophet of Allah
is establishing the Messenger and settling his own
human nature. Because imagine year after year, month
after month, it's a long period of time,
you're constantly hearing this narrative against you.
Right? It can happen that Shaytan
uses it as a tool, and Shaytan's running
his attacks as well. A time comes when
you sit back and you start doubting, thinking
that, SubhanAllah, where am I going with this?
Right? And Allah is revealing what happened to
Musa and the time that it took, and
everything has a plan. And Allah is, all
able,
upon all able, and everything will be when
Allah decrees them to be, and everything has
its appointed time. You look at Surat al
Zumr, you know, all this is happening, and
at the end, Allah
says,
And now Allah takes us all the way
to the day of Qiyamah, and they'll be
driven in groups to the hellfire. And when
they get there, the gatekeepers will say, but
didn't the messengers come to you with the
message?
Didn't the right narrative come to you?
But it'll be too late. They'll say, bala,
but it's too late.
Right?
Because
when the right narrative came, you pushed it
back with the 4th narrative, or you tried
to. You attempted to. That's what you spend
your time doing. But as with the people
of Jannah,
the people who adopted the right narrative, who
supported the right narrative, who were patient in
light of the false narrative being spread,
what does what does Allah say? They will
be driven to paradise in groups.
And, subhanAllah,
there's a subtlety, because Allah says,
about the people of Jannam,
that they will be driven in groups to
the doors of Jannam and find it shut.
I imagine when you're driven with such ferociousness,
right? And
you're filled with fear because you've just also
finished your standing in front of Allah, and
the driving is fear. It's ferocious.
And then you know what's to what's to
come is severe. When you get there, the
doors are shut.
It's not one of those things where you
just you know, it just happens before you
can even
contemplate what's going on. You're in it. No.
You get a moment where you're stuck,
and now you can anticipate what's to come.
Muhammad. Interpretation. Yes. When it comes to the
people of Jannah, subhanallah, Allah adds wow. Just
one
letter.
Wow. Just wow. One letter, Subhanallah. And that
creates a world of difference in the meaning
that Allah will honor the people who support
the right narrative
by experiencing Jannah before Jannah.
That you will be driven to Jannah,
and you won't even have to get there
and say, ah, subhanAllah, the doors are closed.
When is it gonna open? That you will
experience Jannah before Jannah. Jannah. You will get
there, and Jannah will welcome you. It will
be all ready for you, SubhanAllah.
So no doubt, this is the discourse,
you know, the Qur'anic discourse
teaching us about mankind since ever. It's always
been a false narrative versus a true narrative.
And at times, the false narrative was louder
than the true narrative. But
all the time, with consistency,
the true narrative
overcame the false narrative.
So as we move into different eras, it's
the same story, just different actors.
Mhmm. In terms of even the Quran,
talking about the Hawamim.
I can't remember who it was. 1 of
the Mushrikeen, the leaders of the Mushrikeen,
he was, you know, sent to the prophet
Abu Wali, there was a Wa'ilah.
The name escapes me.
And he was being, you know, he was
interrogating the prophet being kind of rude, and
they were you know, his his team was
kind of, like, you know, egging him on.
And then they saw him,
you know, his whole demeanor change. They couldn't
hear what the prophet was saying to him.
Yeah. And,
it turns out he was reciting just simple
his response was simply reciting the first 13
ayat of Surah Fosilat.
Yes. Yes. I think it's a Akbar. Okay.
Abouwidd?
I am yeah. I know I know the
the the the context that you're sharing. And,
also, when he went back to the Quraysh,
he claimed that I didn't understand if anything
that he was saying except the part of
the punishment that will come. Saika. That there's
gonna be the Saika.
Right? There's gonna be the to to to
cover the mouth of the prophet, sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam.
Like, you know, he said that that's enough.
That's enough. No. Don't recite anymore. Yeah. So
so, you know, that that's the lesson. Right?
Same same,
message,
same story, different actors, and the lesson's the
same,
that
across all eras, even those who stand on
the side of the false narrative, deep down,
they know
that it's false. Deep deep down, they have
moments. If they don't know, at least they've
had moments,
but they choose to
use arrogance to treat that moment
as opposed to being objective.
So,
there's no profit to come. This has to
keep on reminding,
keep on standing,
keep on delivering,
keep on
pushing, keep on, you know,
being in that space because there's no solution
for humanity except the collective effort of the
Ummah Muhammad
So just, you know, if we can circle
it back to the question that Tariq asked,
why is the work of,
Islam 21 c,
important it's important for for for for many
reasons for many reasons.
The prophet,
he
did this work,
and that's how we really have to see
it. Yes. Okay. We might be doing it
a different way, but he actually did this
work,
just as he helped the poor and the
needy, and he supported the destitute, and he
stood with the widows,
and he preached Islam. He did dua, and
he taught the new Muslims. So all the
work of the prophet
all these projects that we have
that we call charitable projects that have been
established as institutions.
Right? They really are established to do the
work of the prophet
anyone sees from
there. Shaikh, you reminded me of when when
we did when we're doing, one of our
tours with you,
we're driving around the country
with Sheikh Sajid Omar on, I think part
of the, the oil campaign.
Yeah. So I I remember mentioning.
No. No.
What's what's the fruit? What's the consequences of
Hatmih Nabuwad? We all talk about Hatmih Nabuwad
that the prophet is the final messenger.
And the penny dropped. It's something we all
know intuitively but when you mention it once
and then I had the benefit of hearing
it like 10 times because we're on the
same tour.
It really kind of drummed into me that
you you know the point of the prophet
being the last and final messenger isn't just
a theoretical thing that you can debate about.
The fruit of it is,
hey, guess what? There's no more profits coming.
This job is inherited by this entire Ummah
now.
And that really kind of stuck in my
head. I always repeat that to brothers and
sisters that 100%. 100%. Everyone needs to feel
deployed
by the Lord of the Wells. Everyone.
Irrespective of your ability.
Right? So but you have to feel deployed.
And everyone who's deployed has to return back
to base. When you get back to base,
you will be questioned.
That's the reality. It's it comes with the
stripes. So we're all deployed.
Yeah. I mean, and we've been stationed.
And Islam shouldn't be attacked from our station.
So we need to feel that responsibility. That's
what it is. You know, you we have
to feel it. We have to feel it.
And, even this whole idea of Islam and
spreading Islam and its making its mercy and
its justice and its wisdom and its transformative
benefit be felt by the wider,
globe, the wider communities of the globe.
It can't be just, you know,
words that we string together.
It can't be an idea that makes us
feel good and something that's at the back
of our mind. And, you know, I have
thousands of things to do.
Yeah, when I'm done with that, then there's
this no. No. No. No. It's it's then
wishful thinking. It's wishful thinking. You know, if
if we really want this
izzah
to come to the ummah,
then it has to be at the forefront
of our minds and our hearts and our
thoughts.
We wake up thinking about it. We go
to sleep thinking about it. That is the
mandate. But if we're gonna live our lives
about me, myself, I, my kids, my bills,
their schools, which school they're gonna go to,
the house I wanna buy,
and you know, my job, my promotion.
And then after all of that, and oh
yes, You know, Islam and Islam, they're spreading.
Then this is wishful thinking. We're not gonna
we're not gonna do we we know
we're not serious,
about this.
You know?
When you when you, you know, when you
travel
and you sit in this big plane, 4
engines, and it's on the runway,
it it screams,
right, to get it into the air. And
it's screaming
as it gets to 40,000 feet. When it
gets to 40,000 feet, it's settled. You can
even switch off 2 engines. You hardly hear
the engines. It's moving.
Right? So this is the same thing. If
you wanna get this idea off the ground,
you know, of Islam and Rizah and turning
on and and and, you know, the the
the honor of Islam being felt by the
people of the wider globe, then we need
screaming engines.
People need to we we don't need to
be asking. People need to be coming forth
and saying, listen, guys. You're doing a great
job. This is something that you can do,
I cannot do, but I want to support
you doing it. Keep at it, and here
you go. That's the idea. That we trade
with Allah. We show Allah that in the
front of our minds and hearts, we are
true
to our la ilaha illa Muhammadu Rasoolallah covenant
with Him. That we understand we deployed,
and we haven't forgotten.
So if anything, you know, these projects, they're
a mercy to the community because,
it's just easier. Right? Just donate,
and, don't think of it as a donation.
Think of it as an investment. I always
say this, guys, because donate has a negative
consequence.
Mhmm. We feel like, you know, we've given
up a piece of ourselves. No. You're investing.
Go trade with Allah. Go trade with Allah.
And no amount is small, alhamdulillah.
As long as the project's reputable, the people
are reputable.
And this trust extended
that you're not throwing your money down a
pit, but you actually it's gonna create an
impact.
Trade with Allah through the project.
And feel free to ask the project for
an impact report. And I know it's not
21. See, every, 12 months, they release an
impact report to show, you know, what impact
has been created, how the needle has sort
of moved up in terms of the mission
of the project,
and,
what
contribution,
a person's investment had towards that need needle
going up.
Mhmm. Are you okay?
If you look like you've been really impacted
by what the sheikh is saying. No.
It's very beneficial. And, Sheik, one of the
things when you mention these things that I
always think about
is, you know, being involved in different organizations,
you come to realize that there are literally
100, if not thousands, of organizations out there
doing
phenomenal work. But but primarily humanitarian work seems
to be to be what what we're most
attracted to as a community.
And,
one of the conversations we were having earlier,
myself and Saman, was this idea that if
we were to take, then we call it
the crime baby effect. If you were to
show a starving baby suffering,
that naturally would predisposition
to,
you know, when you see suffering, there's something
inside you that wants to respond. But as
a community,
we need to see more, you know, more
more balance between supporting
the the urgent versus supporting
the the important.
And there's always gonna be urgent needs. There's
always gonna be humanitarian crises.
There's always gonna be, you know, a flood
here, a catastrophe there, and we need to
respond and help as much as we can.
But there is a disproportionate amount of institutes
like Islam 21c and others
that are are fighting
what some might say is is the greater
battle, the more strategic battle, the more long
term battle. Mhmm. And I just wanted to
get your thoughts on this. Yeah. Absolutely. Look.
You always gonna have proactive
institutions,
but you need proactive institutions
as well.
That's just the the reality. And if we're
always gonna focus on reaction, reaction, reaction, then
we're putting ourselves in a vortex because,
reacting to things is expensive.
It's it's it's resource intensive,
and it's also expensive.
So time needs to come when equilibrium
sort of is felt. It might take a
century for it to happen, but we need
start. That process needs to start. The process
needs to start. So we need to have
a vision with our our charitable
endeavors as well.
Now it should be,
that, you know, we spend our money for
the sake of Allah
with a vision,
and we're not driven purely by emotion.
We're understanding the landscape.
We're understanding
our duty, the things we spoke about just
now, and what's important. And make sure that
we as we diversify
our wealthy investment
by spreading our money across a basket
of business opportunity.
We do the same
when we invest with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So we have portions for reaction reactive projects,
and we have portion for the proactive,
projects.
Yeah.
Yeah. Exactly. Well, brothers and sisters, you had

propaganda. Don't look at it online because it
will get shown to more people. But now
when you see any, any piece of from,
you know, Israeli spokespeople or whatever, you see
underneath them, 100 of people
taking them out, 100 of people taking them,
make out of them, 100 of people,
fact checking. Even x now has these community,
what they call,
community something, current when when people are correcting
the all the false, notions. So
we have we have we have the ability
as a community, as as everyone,
to chip in and make something too loud
to ignore.

time
for us to take Islam out there, show
Islam what show show the world what Islam
is because people are looking for answers.

dua and giving 10 10 years later giving
dua, these people are so much more receptive.
They're willing to take Quran. They wanna they
wanna read. They wanna they they they they're
happy. They're, you know, have sitting on a
table and hanging out Qurans before was a
you have to build up to it and
explain and explain now. People come up to,
like, really Quran free? And and they they
want to read it. You know, even on
TikTok, there was a,
the the hashtag Quran
was trending,
in You know what? You know what? It
was trending yesterday. So funny.
It's the phrase may Allah.
